Daniel Röhm | Pianist
Daniel Röhm is a pianist, university professor and founder of the Röhm Academy Stuttgart.
After studying with Konrad Elser at the Lübeck University of Music, he completed the master-class programme with Gerhard Oppitz in Munich. Prizes at international piano competitions in Barcelona and Weimar marked the beginning of his career.
As a soloist, he has performed with orchestras including the Staatskapelle Weimar, Stuttgart Philharmonic, Bochum Symphony Orchestra, Württemberg Chamber Orchestra Heilbronn and Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra. His chamber-music partners have included Daniel Müller-Schott, Wen-Sinn Yang, Julian Steckel and Johannes Moser, among many others.

After studying with Konrad Elser at the Lübeck University of Music, he completed the master-class programme with Gerhard Oppitz at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich.
Prizes at international piano competitions, including Maria Canals in Barcelona and the Franz Liszt Piano Competition in Weimar, together with numerous scholarships, marked the beginning of his artistic career. Röhm has appeared as a soloist with orchestras such as the Staatskapelle Weimar, Stuttgart Philharmonic, Bochum Symphony Orchestra, Württemberg Chamber Orchestra Heilbronn and Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra.
His chamber-music partners have included Daniel Müller-Schott, Wen-Sinn Yang, Julian Steckel and Johannes Moser, among many others.
His CD recordings have been released by GENUIN and cpo; his recording of Schubert’s late sonatas received the “Supersonic Award” from Pizzicato magazine.
He has also made numerous productions for SWR, BR, Deutschlandradio and NRK.
Following teaching posts at the Franz Liszt University of Music Weimar and visiting professorships in South Korea, Daniel Röhm served as Professor of Piano and Chamber Music at the University of Stavanger in Norway from 2014 to 2025.
In 2019 he founded the Röhm Academy Stuttgart, which he continues to direct. The Academy focuses on preparing young international musicians intensively for degree studies at German-speaking music universities.
